Our Story

A neighborhood diner built on good coffee, honest portions and a warm welcome.

How it began

From one griddle to a local landmark

Griddlewood started with a single flat-top grill, a stack of grandma's recipe cards and a simple idea: serve the kind of food people grew up loving, and do it properly.

More than fifteen years later we're still cracking eggs to order, hand-forming burger patties every morning and pouring bottomless coffee for the same regulars who came in on day one — and for the new faces who find us every week.

What we believe

Our promises

Made from scratch

No shortcuts. Biscuits, sauces, dressings and pies are all made in our own kitchen.

Fair, clear prices

The price on the menu is the price you pay — before tax. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Community first

We buy local, hire local and support neighborhood schools and food banks all year round.

Cooked to order, every time

Our line cooks work the griddle in plain view — so you'll see, hear and smell your meal being made. Have a dietary need? Just ask; we happily adapt dishes wherever we can.

Private gatherings, birthdays and team lunches are welcome. Call us on (828) 555-0142 to plan yours.
